Taking Flight

Today we went to the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola. It is a great place to take kids or just to visit yourself. There is a lot to see and the museum is really neat. Lu is a little young for all of the air planes, but she still enjoyed looking at everything. The best thing is that it is free! I met two of my friends there and they each have a friend for Lu. They had a good time together. After we looked at all of the planes we went to the park near by. I brought lunch for LAS but managed to forget something for myself. Typical. We had such a great day. Maybe she has a future as a fighter pilot, who knows. At least she got some practice in. Getting ready for take off.

Playing with Drew and Natalie. This was her face when she saw the stairs. We were very excited.
Can I touch your face please?

I'm tired of being a pilot. Get me out.
Please look at this face pray for me in 15 years when she can put words with it. We may not even need any words, the face says a lot.Swingin'Hi Natalie. I like to play with you!

I Heart Sausage

Today was a BEAUTIFUL day for sausage. We headed to Elberta, AL to the sausage festival this morning. I don't really know why I took so long to go ready because, I promise you, it did not matter. It was so packed! There were a ton of booths and a lot of food. We had a really good time. They had live music and LAS loved that. She has really gotten into music lately. No favorites yet. Someone was blaring rap music in our parking lot the other day and she had a ball. Back to the sausage... I definitely recommend the festival if you are ever in the area. They do it twice a year. Make sure you go before 3 because, rumor is, they run out of the sausage pretty quick.

Yes, that is a trash can he is playing.

I am holding the true star of the show... a sausage dog. (Man, I am pale.)

I Love the Elberta Sausage Festival!

Lu waved at everyone she saw. The child has never met a stranger. Scary!

The traffic going to the festival!

Worn out!

Aint No Teeth Gonna Get Me Down

Lu has so many teeth coming in right now and she is not handling it very well. We were supposed to go to the zoo today, but because she was crying for nearly 12 hours straight I decided not to do that to myself. We did go outside for some fresh air and that seemed to help. Daddy met us there and she got really excited to see him. There was another little boy on the playground and she kept following him around and trying to give him hugs. I had to keep pulling her away. Daddy does not like that she is already chasing boys. I did make the first move with Phillip, so she could be taking after Mommy. Yikes! She has a HUGE personality. I love it.
Out of the entire playground, she wanted to play with the keys.

She really liked feeding the duck her cheerios. What a big girl!

Ooohh! What is this?

Your Subscription is Here

For Lu's first birthday Momma M and Grandaddy gave her a subscription to Baby Bug magazine. It is so cute. The pages are really thick so it is very hard for her to destroy too much. It is filled with adorable little stories. The best idea. I brought it in from the mailbox and handed it to LAS and she sat right down and "read" it. She really did. She opened it right up and carried it around all night. I recommend it. It would be a great gift for a child. Thanks Momma M and Grandaddy, I will enjoy reading for a long time!
Showing off her magazine.
She can read in any position.
Listening to Mommy read.

Oh, she really enjoyed some orange slices the other morning. I thought this was cute.

One Year Check Up

Since LAS was sick last week, we had to reschedule her one year check up. We went today and everything looked great. She weighed 20lbs 6 oz and is the 50% for weight. She measured 29" long and is in the 50% for height. Her head also measured in the 50%. All in all she is right in the middle, average. I am fine with that. Last appointment she was 25% for weight and about 80% for height, so we have made some changes. Lu got two shots and Dr. B said she only has three more to get. The doctor also felt around in her mouth and her molars are almost all in. I literally said a prayer and asked God for all of her teeth to come at once, because I was so sick of not knowing when they were coming and the horrible time it gave us. Well what do you know, she has had about 7 teeth come in at once. Long story short, don't repeat my prayer. It is not worth it!
Waiting for Dr. B to come check us out.
Exhausted after 2 shots and missing a nap. She was like this before I left the parking lot of the doctor's office.

Happy St. Patrick's Day from the O'Skippers

Knowing that St. Patty's day was fast approaching I had nothing for LAS to wear. I came up with an idea and bought some fabric. I wanted it to be something that she could wear a lot, so I didn't want anything with shamrocks or leprechauns. (Leprechauns kind of scare me anyway) I didn't not do the monogramming, although my machine does do it. I can't figure it out for the life of me. We just had a normal day; music class and playing. There was no chance we were going to get pinched. I also tried to get a little creative with my photography, so excuse the photo shoot. She loves putting her money in the bank. Thanks Aunt Bess and Uncle Jason for teaching her the importance of saving for her future!

You can really see her green eyes here.
Look at all of my teeth. I have about 10.
We weren't expecting it to be so cold out today. Where is spring?

Green milk... maybe a little over-kill on the St. Patty's Day stuff!

The Zoo Makes Me Feel Better

It turns out LAS had Roseola. It is a virus that starts with an extremely high fever and is followed by a rash when the fever breaks. She fit almost all of the symptoms; lack of appetite, fussiness. She is much better now and finally slept through the night again last night. We haven't had much sleep since last Thursday. S o Saturday night we just hung out. It was a great family night. Playing with her friends.

Drinking through a straw! I am so excited that she has learned how to do this. Although that is 100% juice, wired.
Eating a popsicle to make her feel better.
We skipped out on church Sunday, because I didn't want Lu to be around the kids in the nursery, and we went to the zoo. It has just reopened and we have been excited about taking her there. On the way we stopped by our friend's house who just had a baby last Monday. We picked up the big sister and took her with us. The new Mom and Dad needed some rest, not sure that they got any though. Gracie was so good and we would be glad for her to join us any time. We had a great time and I think Lu really liked seeing the animals. She would just point and laugh at them. She especially loved to watch Gracie feed the ducks.
She wanted to put on Daddy's shoes. All ready for the zoo.
Gracie sharing her animal feed with Lu. Gracie loved to feed the goats.
We loved the giraffe.

Riding the train.
The chimps would do sign language back to you.
Sunning hippo.
