Girl Time

Yesterday Lu and I pampered ourselves. We went and got her first mani/pedi. Really they just paint her nails, but it was so fun. She really wasn't sure she wanted to go, but I convinced her it would be great. She LOVED it! I really did it thinking this might help with the thumb sucking. One of the first things she said was that she wanted to quit sucking her thumb so she didn't mess up he pretty sparkly fingers. She also told me that the ladies were speaking Spanish. Well, I don't think it was Spanish. She tells everyone that she sees that she got her nails painted, stranger or not. It was a lot of fun. We'll see if it helps with the thumb.

Getting ready for the pampering!
 She watched very intently.
 Proud of her pretty nails.
Finished product. We got the same color, but hers has sparkles.

Dairy Farm Tour

Living in a college town has definite perks. Last week Phillip and I went with Lu's class to the LSU dairy farm.  The kids got to see a lot of different animals and learn about what they do. They saw a cow get milked and her teacher even stuck her hand in a cow to see what they ate. It was pretty stinky. After they finished the tour the kids got to eat ice cream made by the cows there on the dairy farm. It was a lot of fun.

The class

Ms. Dee checking out what the cow had for lunch.

Lucy petting the calf.

Lu and pals enjoying their ice cream.

And just because I thought this was cute... I told Lu to go make her bed and this is what it looked like. I loved how she put everything neatly in its place. She said it looked like a princess castle.

6 months

Our little man is 6 months old! I truly can't believe how fast time has gone. 6 months is such a fun age. He is loving his sister, toys, and strolling. He is still a happy guy and just makes me smile all of the time. RWS is a big snuggler. This is hard for me, because I could hold him forever. He got 3 shots at his checkup and felt pretty rotten the rest of the day. His stats are...
Weight:18 lbs 2 oz 50-75%
Height: 26 1/4inches 50-75%
Head: 17 inches 95%
Boy's got a big ole head.

We don't stay in pajamas all day, my child just insists on wearing pajamas constantly.

Busy Busy

We've been keeping pretty busy around here lately. The weather has been soooo beautiful and we have really been enjoying it. We have made a couple zoo trips and lots of outside time. The following post has a lot of pictures, but it was a busy week.
Being silly at our "picnic".
They love each other soooo much. It makes me happy! I hope it is like this for a long time!
Lu pushed Bubba (what she calls him) in his walker. Um, I got a little nervous several times, but his reaction below shows you that he was pretty happy with the speed.
I love to drive fast!
Going to the zoo. I got these matching outfits before he was born. I wish you could see a little better, but they are really cute!
We went to the Ponchatula Strawberry Festival. That is pretty much all I have to say about it. We probably won't go back. It was something fun to do on a Saturday.
The girls got to pet an alligator.
and a 7 week old horse. How cute is that thing?!?!
Me and Denise with the girls.
Today we went to the LSU baseball game. One of my former students plays for Alabama and I got to see him at the game. He was one of my favorites and I am so proud of him. Lucy thought it was pretty cool to meet a baseball player.
Of course we saw Mike!
and some one had Dippin Dots for the first time.
I think she liked them!

New Toys

Not only was it Easter, we had a big day full of firsts. RWS tried rice cereal for the first time and really liked it. He did very well and never fussed. He seemed to want more and did a great job for his first time eating with a spoon. We also got the iPad and Lu literally spent hours playing games and looking at books. It is so amazing how she just automatically new how to use it. Now she thinks that everything has a touch screen. Lu and Wally also had their first bath where he sat up in the water by himself. He LOVED it. She makes him laugh so much and he was having a ball.
Yummy!
Lu playing with "her" new toy.
Just enjoying the day!
Bath time is fun time!

Easter

Happy Easter! What a wonderful day to celebrate Jesus rising from the dead. It is beautiful here and has been a wonderful day. The Easter Bunny visited the kids, despite some behavior that really should have caused him to take a detour. He ate all of the veggie sticks that we gave him. Lucy actually wrote her name at the bottom of the note. Not sure if you can tell, but this is really the first time she has done it. The bunny tried to keep it simple this time around and I am thinking it is totally the way to go. Band-aids and panties sure go a long way with a 3 year old. I was afraid that I would never get these kiddos up this morning. It never fails that when we need to be somewhere early, they are going to sleep late. Never when I want them too.

So, this was the scene about 30 minutes before we had to leave for church. We managed to make it in pretty good time.
Wow! The Easter Bunny came!

I put my puzzle together.
I'm just happy to sit here!
A quick family picture after lunch. Great day!

Palm Sunday and Kite Festival

Well, we didn't love waving our palms on Palm Sunday. This was as about as happy as we got. She started crying about half way through. Big crowds are not Lu's thing. Although, she did do it at both services because she really wanted to wave her palms. Maybe next year she will give a smile.

After church today we went to a kite festival. One thing that we love about living here is all of the festivals. Oh, and there is a parade for everything! Lu got a kite for her birthday (thanks Aunt Bess and Uncle Jason) and we took it for a spin today. You wouldn't believe some of the kites we saw. Giant kite, itty bitty kites, home made kites, kites that were choreographed with music; really amazing. It was such a FUN day!
