Destin Bound

Saturday we went to Destin for the day to visit our good friends there. The boys played golf, not sure how because it was ridiculously hot, and the girls hung out. We also went to eat on the beach that night. It was great seeing them and we sure miss being closer. Look forward to seeing them again soon. I of course forgot to take pictures during the day. We did manage to get some shots of Lu at dinner. She was looking very beachy and scraggly. That is how you know it was a good day!

Fish and Teddy Grahams...Yum!

Can you tell that we love Ketchup?!

Ow-Sigh

Ow-sigh is Lu's way of saying outside. She loves to go outside, but it is dang hot. I caved today and we took baby for a walk. This was the first time we took a walk while she was not in her stroller. LAS did great! She loves her baby and stayed on the sidewalk with no problem. I was very proud of her. When we got back in we were a little sweaty and in need of some serious juice. We are ready for some cool air to come our way. I think we have a long wait for that!

Such a big girl! She is so good with her baby.

Trying to cool off with her juice. This is my table and chairs from when I was little. She is LOVING them. We like to have our snacks here, just wish we had more room for them!!

Money Wedding

This weekend Phillip was in the wedding of his great friend, Scott Money. They have grown up together and we had the privilege of celebrating as he married Laura. They are a great couple and we had a great time! The wedding was gorgeous and one of the nicest I have ever been too. The band was ridiculous! They had choreographed dance moves to each song. Awesome!! Congratulations guys!!
Happy couple!

Dave (brother of the groom) and Jonathan singing the first dance song (If it's the beaches...) Awesome!
Cool centerpiece.
Dave and Jaimie Money.

Gen and her little one.

The band was FUN!!! Can't you tell.

Special Visit

This weekend my mom (Mimi) and grandmother (Mema) stayed with Lu while we went to the wedding. She had a great time. My mom brought my old table and chairs and wooden ironing board from when I was little. She really learned to saying Mimi very well. She is so lucky to have such great grandparents!! We also went to swim lessons. She can get out of the pool all by herself. It is so amazing what they can do at this age. I was really happy with how they went.

We did put the grandmas to work when they were here. My mom helped make Lu a shower curtain for the bathroom at our new place and we also tried to get organized with our toys. The cubby hole shelf is from Target. Love it!

Climbing out of the pool all by herself!

Ironing on her very own ironing board. This is not a skill she learned from Mommy. It actually scares her a little. I feel her pain!

Playing with her great-grandmother, Mema.
Putting my mom to work! The shower curtain she made is sooo cute!

An attempt at making my living room look less like a play room and more like adults live here.

Man It's Hot Out

I finally got my little Lu back from Momma M and Grandaddy's, and boy did I miss her. I think she grew another inch while she was there. Lu had a great time with her grandparents and was sad to see Momma M drive away. I tried to pack in a bunch of things for us to do when she got back. We tried to go up to the park and lasted all of 15 minutes. Way too hot! To cool off we went to TCBY for Waffle Cone Wednesday. Why have I not been to get a 99 cent waffle cone yet? Maybe we will have to get really hot every Wednesday! Thanks for meeting us Sallis'. Hope I didn't have to twist your arm too hard!
Heading to the park.
Sunglasses on upside down. That's how she wanted them.

Our friend Oliver met us for a waffle cone.
Yummy!

Here We Geaux...

Sorry I have been missing, but our family is making a big move. Sometime in August, and I say sometime because we don't have an exact date yet, we will be moving to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We have been back and forth a couple of times to try and figure the city out and find a place to live. Lu has been in Abbeville with Momma M and Grandaddy so Phillip and I could go house hunting. It has been very quiet around here. Needless to say, no Lu = boring! I probably will be eating my words in a few days.

We are pretty excited about all the things there are to do in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas. We will really miss the friends that we have made here and hate the fact that we just keep getting further from our family and friends in Birmingham. It is going to be hard because we know absolutely no one, but we will manage. If you know peeps in Baton Rouge and want to share, let me know!

I didn't really take any pictures from our trip, but a couple of good things we did find while we were in BR this past weekend...

A crawfish quesadilla, only in Louisiana.

And probably the best margarita I have ever had. Guess we might need to find a babysitter first!

Friday Fun Day

Today we had a play date with some of our friends here. Mom, Amber, had all the fixins for the bigger kids to make their own pizza. It was so cute. They seemed to have a good time making them. I look forward to doing that stuff with Lu. It was nice to visit with the other moms too. Big kid convo is so nice, and such a necessity. LAS hammed it up in some Mardi Gras beads and
was obsessed with their dogs! We had a great time!

Hanging with Sydney.

Looking for the "woof woof".

Her buddy Natalie was there.

Of course, chewing on something.

Making pizzas.

Then we came home and Daddy had a photo shoot.

Trying on Dad's jacket.

New Addition

Are good friends here just had a baby. Today Lu and I took some goodies over and met the little guy. He is so cute. He is so lucky to have some of the sweetest people as his Mommy and Daddy. LAS wanted to touch him SO badly. She did pretty well, but was itching to bounce him in his bouncy seat. I was pretty stressed. Luckily she didn't wake him up!

Sweet Baby!
Loved the dog! It was hard to keep her quiet around Polo.

Walking in Daddy's Shoes

When Daddy gets home from work he takes his clunky boots off before he starts playing with Lu. Yesterday she wanted to wear his shoes REALLY bad. LAS has a definite love for shoes. She always brings them to me and says "suz". That is usually followed by "ow-side" (outside). I guess we better start saving for her shoe problem now.
Very proud of herself and Daddy's work boots.
Cheese!

Big 4th of July Weekend

This weekend was awesome. Our best friends came down from Birmingham, with their girls, and we celebrated. I am pooped. So is the rest of our clan. We packed a lot into the weekend and it was worth every second. Mal and I got to hang out by the pool, enjoy a kid free dinner, go see Eclipse, and watch some fireworks. The girls played great together and so did the husbands. Maybe one day we will be back in Birmingham and make it a regular occurrence.
Here is how the weekend went...

Congletons arrive and girls immediately begin playing. It is almost 9:00...

Next morning. They needed breakfast, stat.

Hurry.
Blueberries and toast. Let's just say we saw a lot of blueberries this weekend.

Then we headed to the pool. Lu and E look mighty comfy in their birthday suits. They will kill us for this one day.
Then Mommies and Daddies had a kid free dinner. Thank you babysitter!
We did have some adult fun. (Mommy and Daddy juice)

Sunday we went to Phillip's job site and to the park to burn off some energy.
After some napping we decided to check out the beach. It was a little oily so we didn't last long.

Bryan and Em.
Christian played in the sand a bit and Lu enjoyed it.

We then headed downtown for the Fourth of July festivities. A quick stop to play in the fountains.

Christian protected Em from all of the crazy Pcola people.

Then we listened to music and got ready for the show. We were there for hours, but the kids did great. I think Lu has a new friend in Christian. She followed her everywhere.

We lost our bow early on and had a chocolate face.

Christian really enjoyed the show! Even Anderson came to watch with us. They were great!
By the end of the night we were all looking pretty rough.
