Love

I just wanted to share a couple of my recent favorite pictures. These kids are amazing.

Reynolds: It's what's for dinner.

On our recent trip I looked back to find this. I hope they always love each other this much!

Hurrican Isaac

Well, we braved Hurricane Isaac. We actually never lost power, but nearly lost our minds. Being stuck in the house was kind of fun, but we were ready to get out and about by the end. It never got really bad where we were, thank goodness. We had to get creative with things to do. Probably our favorite thing was bringing Lu's mattress into the den and jumping. I think that she may have jumped for two solid hours. Even Reynolds enjoyed her jumping. We made a tent, painted, and played. I hope that we don't have to do it again any time soon, but it was fun just spending time with our little family.

May have a future in Olympic trampoline.

 Having fun!
Wally's new thing, lying his head down and we say, "Night, Night"
We tried to see how many hats we could wear at once.

Insectarium

Saturday we took the kids to the Instectarium with some friends. It was a lot of fun. I wasn't sure how Lu would do with the bugs, but I think that she liked being grossed out. If you ever get a chance to go while you are in New Orleans, I definitely recommend it. The museum is really nice and clean, except for the occasional cockroach and spider (caged, of course). You also get to watch a 4-D movie, which was a lot of fun. Even Reynolds loved it. He would have grabbed every bug if he could have reached his hand through the glass. Actually, they probably all would have ended up in his mouth. Phillip knows all about eating bugs after this trip. He had chocolate covered worms and red beans and crickets. We would do it again.

Look, but won't touch
 Sissy and Bubs
Someone was a little too friendly with the gators
You don't want to miss the cooking class. Yes, bugs included.
 Today's special
This is what Lu thought about eating bugs. Not interested. It made RWS hungry.
This is what Dad thought about it. Yuck!
The babe would have touched all of them. Such a boy.

You can tell he was born on the bayou, loved the gators.
A and L in the butterfly garden. PS she says she is going to marry him.

Super Skippers

The kids and I made an unnecessary trip to Old Navy and spent and unnecessary amount of money, full of unnecessary items. But, man do the kids look cute. I love finding a deal.

I mean, how can you resist your baby looking like a super hero?!?
and your daughter just looking plain cute.
We were all exhausted after our day and Lu looked like this during movie night. Don't you all wish you could sleep like that. The movie nap is really my secret weapon to get her to fall asleep. Ha Ha Ha!

Yogurt Face

Lucy had yogurt for a snack yesterday, but look who ate most of it. Well, I think most ended up on him instead of in his mouth! Lucy also tried to do a little feeding herself.

Not the best picture, but look at that mess. He loved every minute of it.

10 Months

Wally is 10 months old today!!! Double Digits!! I feel like I say it each month, but where has this year gone. I love this age, but the newborn little boy feels so far away. Good thing I have two sister-in-laws that can take care of that baby fever. Reynolds is getting so close to walking. He stands up by himself, from sitting, for a good while. He walks behind a push toy by himself. He is getting more and more stable. He eats like a horse. I can pretty much feed him what we are eating. He seems to like most everything I put in front of him. His favorite food is definitely bread. He also like beans. He doesn't seem to love, well, I can't think of anything. He wears a size 4 diaper and a size 4 shoe. He wears 9-12 months clothing. RWS probably weighs near 22 lbs, but we haven't been to the doctor in a while. He now has tubes, which has been great. He still is the happiest little guy I know. Just really sweet. I told Phillip last night that he is starting to get a little harder because separation anxiety is in full effect and he really loves his Momma. He also wants to put absolutely everything in his mouth. He is still a good sleeper, taking two naps a day and sleeping through the night. He can be an early riser some mornings. RWS has 4 teeth (almost all the way through). He doesn't take as many bottles any more since he is eating more meals. But, that bed time bottle puts him to sleep every time. I love those moments. Lucy is still a great big sister and they have a lot of fun together. Things are starting to get a little louder and sharing is a bigger part of our vocabulary again. I would have to say he has three favorite parts of the day: 1)first thing in the morning sitting with Mom 2) picking up Sissy from school 3) BATH TIME!

Better start planning that first birthday. Can't believe it is almost here already!

Photo shoot is getting a little more difficult. Here are some out takes...

Dance Class

Today was Lu's first day of dance. She will be doing tap and ballet. Before we left she tried on her different dance shoes and gave them a test run. To say that she was excited would be an understatement. All summer she has been asking when she would be starting. I was hoping it wouldn't be too much of a let down, but she loved it. Here is a convo after class...

Me: Did they teach you any dance moves in class today?
Lu: Yes. I learned the pre-k.
Me: No, that is what kind of school you go to. What dance moves did you learn?
Lu: I learned the pre-k!
Me: I don't know about that. What does it look like?
Lu:(frustrated) Ugh...Mom I will just show you when we get home.
...(flash forward to her showing me the move)
Me: Oh, you learned the plie.
Lu: Yes, the plie-K

 Ready for tap

 Ready for ballet

Going into class with the other girls.

Roller Derby

Last night we took Lu to a roller derby match. She and Dad dressed up for the match. We have never been to one of these before and it was very interesting. It was a lot of fun to watch and Lu loved the roller skating. Those girls are tough!
Dad and Lu
The girl in black had stop signs painted on her shorts. Ha!
 One of the derby girls.
 Watching the bout.

Geyser

Have you guys seen what happens when you drop Mentos in a Coke? We had a little experiment this weekend to find out. We had a lot of fun making the Coke geyser. Both of the kids loved watching it shoot into the air and Lu loved being the one to count out the Mentos.

Play Mates

These kids are starting to really play together. We are having to revisit sharing quite a few times during the day. Lucy has really been having fun playing pretend lately. I am loving watching her and her "customers". Reynolds just follows her around and thinks he is playing with her. They are the cutest!
Lu playing with the ironing board I had when I was little.

Trying to get in on the action, between snacks of course.
He can walk behind this toy now. Yikes!
Look what I found at the thrift store...$10! Once I cleaned it up, we had a great time riding around.
They love each other!
Beep Beep! (Ha, his John John matches the car.)
