What happened to the warm weather?

So, after yesterday's successful playground trip, I thought it would be a great thing to do on a Saturday with Daddy. We made a picnic and then I checked the Weather Channel. Should have done that first. But, I was determined and we went to the park any way. We had a good time, but nothing like it should have been. The weather here is crazy. Yesterday we needed shorts, today we needed jackets. While we were at the park we stopped by the dog park there. This is where we used to take our pups before they took an extended vacation to my parents. I haven't really talked about it on here, but, let's just say, Barkley doesn't like children. To avoid any catastrophe we had to send them away. It was hard, but definitely the right move.

We had a great day. I love the weekends!

She loved watching the leaves blow in the wind.

Daddy may have had more fun on the slide than LAS did.

This was her face. Amazed!

You Know You Live In Florida When...

It is 75 degrees outside in January! So LAS and I took full advantage of the weather. Our complex has a nice playground and we checked it out. Not too much in the way of baby gear, but we had fun none-the-less. She got really excited when she saw the playground. Lu, however, did not enjoy the dirt and grass on her hands. We are going to have to change this. I look forward to the time when she can run around there without any help. She sat on my lap to swing, and REALLY loved that. She squealed so loud, a new favorite. We just wish Daddy could have been there.

I thought this was funny. I don't call it lazy, I call it resourceful. She rested her sippy cup on the tray so she didn't have to hold it. I'm not really sure how well it worked. Clever.

Her face when she saw the playground.

Trying to figure out how to walk on the grass.

Great Week for Grandads

Today we had another surprise from our other Grandaddy. He stopped by on his way to a tennis tournament in Mobile. His doubles team is really good and they win all the time. It was a great treat for LAS. She loves Grandaddy! He made her giggle uncontrollably, and I love that. We had a great visit, even if it was short. Lu's Momma M, Phillip's mom, was mad she missed us. We missed you too.
Then I made meatloaf for dinner. She really enjoyed it. She is such a good eater!

Lu's Got Mail

The other day we went to the mailbox, because it was actually sunny and actually about 50, and found a very nice surprise. Pops, my Dad, sent LAS a present. He travels a good deal for work and stopped off at some outlets to get a little something for his favorite grandaughter. She really enjoyed opening the gift and loved carrying around the dresses once she got them out of the package. Thanks for thinking of us Pops. We can't wait to wear them. You have great taste.
Surprises are great!

My Fav Shoes

For those of you who were wondering...my shoes from the last post are made by Columbia. I love them. They are super comfortable and go with everything. I wear them everyday. They came from here.

Living Room Makeover

This weekend Momma M and Grandaddy came to visit us. They brought us our new beautiful couch and over sized chair. It is AWESOME! I can't wait to take a nap on it, wait I don't get to take naps anymore. Maybe one day! It really made us realize what little space we have in our apartment. We don't care though, it is so cozy! The couch is so big that I can sit on it and my feet don't touch the floor. If you know me, I am tall. I don't think this has happened since I was 14. I love it. LAS loves it to. She just throws herself into the cushions and laughs. We had a great weekend and are already enjoying the furniture. Come back soon!!
New furniture! The picture really doesn't do it justice.

For the first time in MANY years... my feet don't touch.

Great toy. Get one if you don't have it. Provides much entertainment.

10 months old

On January 9th our little one turned 10 months old. Double digits!! Everyone always tells you that it is going to fly by when you have a baby. They are right. I can't believe that in less than 2 months she will be one year old. Amazing! I am a little late posting because we were actually at a wedding on her birthday. One of my friends from college, Morgan, got married in Auburn. It was so great to be there, especially because we got to see Aunt Molly and Uncle Bo. They watched LAS while we went to all of the wedding festivities. The wedding was beautiful and we saw a lot of old friends. Amy and Justin met us there too and it was awesome to see them there. It was really fun to have some adult time with Phillip. We danced, but he mostly danced by himself. I guess you had to be there, but I would look up to find him dancing around by himself! We had a great weekend!

It's Official

My Uncle John is officially a politician. He was sworn in as councilman yesterday in St. Mary's, GA. They are very lucky to get such a smart man and someone who really loves their town. Congratulations! My Dad is holding the Bible for him.

It's the Little Things

When Lu and I went into the den this morning Daddy had left us a message. Men take note. It doesn't take a lot to make your woman happy. Well, most of the time :) We are so lucky. This little act put me in the best mood all day. We love you too!

Dancing with Daddy

Last night I walked into the kitchen to find my two favorite people dancing away to the Avett Brothers. If you don't know the Avett Brothers, you should. They are a little blue grassy and totally awesome. I heard some laughter from the kitchen and thought I would check it out. LAS loves her daddy. I just get the biggest smile on my face when I see this. Life is pretty good! I hope you can hear the giggles.

Ringing in the New Year

Happy New Year everyone! We have been on the move for several weeks now. One more trip before we settle down for a little while. For New Year's we went to my parent's in St. Mary's, Georgia. It was a lot of fun. My Aunt and Uncle came from South Carolina and they brought my Grandmother. My Aunt Angie (GaaGaa) lives in St Mary's too, so we got to see her. We actually made it to midnight on New Years, although Phillip and I might have been the only ones who did. My how times have changed, and it is completely fine with me. LAS is really walking now. She doesn't really crawl at all. She also said her very first real word, "dog." She didn't really have a choice since there were a million dogs at my parents' house. Lu would point and say dog when she saw one. It was awesome. She also is throwing her hands up when we say "Touchdown Auburn!" Thank goodness we won the bowl game and we actually did score a touchdown. Maybe she is good luck!
