Halloween Throughout the Years

It sure is AMAZING how she has changed. You really forget how much they grow up until you look back at pictures. It just keeps getting better!

Happy Halloween

We have gotten our use out of our tu-tu. We went trick or treating with our friends and Lucy really got into it. She loved watching all of the kids and saying trick or treat. The neighborhood we went to really gets into the spirit. It was a blast. Even Mommy and Daddy got dressed up! Mommy's costume was a little too difficult for the kids to understand, but the parents all seemed to like it. I wish I could say I came up with it on my own, but I stole the idea from a picture I saw. See if you can get it. Lucy did get a little confused at first. She would hand the candy back to the people when she got it. She gave one lady all of the candy out of her bag. She eventually got the hang of it.

Look what they gave me!

School Halloween Party

Today Lucy had her Halloween Party at school. We went to the fall festival and then there was a party in her classroom. It was really fun to see her with the other kids from class and to see what they do everyday. Mrs. Sarah really has then trained. They put their juice cups in the sink when they are done, push theirs chairs under the table when they are finished eating, and do a lot more for her than for their Mommies. I was so proud. Daddy even came to the fall festival, which she loved. We had a fun day with her friends. For dinner we went to Ihop and had the scary pancake. I had seen a commercial for a free pancake on the 29th, so we went and had a treat. She loved the candy corn most of all. She definitely has a sweet tooth!
(These are from yesterday.)

First sucker! She loved it!

Bobbing for treats.

The balloons were a hit.

Then it was pancake time! Yummy!

Church Fall Festival

We started visiting a church last week and really like it. We tried a Sunday School class today that really seems to be a good fit for us. Lu even likes the nursery, which is saying a lot. No tears when we dropped her off today. It probably has a lot to do with the Dora house the have to play in. Tonight they had a Fall Festival. She dressed up like a ballerina. Lu played games and even trick-or-treated. They did a great job with it and there were a ton of kids. I think we will be on a sugar high for the next month!
Ballerina princess and her Daddy.
Bobbing for ducks. This was her favorite because she just wanted to play in the water. I don't know how many times we did this.

What?!? I have a sugar rush!

Pumpkin Carving and Birthday

Friday night we went over to our friend's house to carve pumpkins and celebrate Anne's birthday. They also have a daughter named Lucy. We had such a great time hanging out with friends. Our Lu dressed up like a girl from the 80s in honor of Anne. She and her brothers created the 80s trivia board game. Really. Isn't that the coolest thing. She is totally on my team if we ever play. I mean, she wrote the questions. The mesh shirt Lucy had on was mine when I was little. Vintage hipster. We have had such a great time getting to know them and our girls play really well together. Thanks for having us!

Our Lucy dressed the part. Splatter paint under the mesh... totally 80s.

Time Out

Lucy is not perfect. I know it is hard, especially for the grandparents, to believe. She has been in time out several times and it seems to work ok. Well, evidently her Auburn doll was not a very good doll. She was playing the other day and I saw her put the chair where I do when she has to go to time out. When she sat her doll down I asked her if the doll was in time out. She replied, "Uh-hu." I then asked her if the doll had been a bad girl and she said, "Uh-hu." She let her sit there for a minute and then picked her up and talked to her. I guess nothing gets past kids at this age!

The Rural Life

This weekend we took a little trip back in time. We went to the Rural Life Museum, which shows you what life would have been like many years ago. They had a fall festival with people dressed in old costumes, animals, and food. I think that Lucy will appreciate it much more in a few years, but she enjoyed seeing some friends and, especially, the horse. She loves horses! It was fun to get out and see the history. They have done a really good job replicating the way life used to be. Lu had another Daddy attached weekend. She pretty much wants nothing to do with me when he is around. I think it makes his day. It was another great weekend in Southern Louisiana.
Her favorite, "Neighs."
She really loved the goats. Not so much when they got close to her though. I'll have to say that the baby goat was precious!

Dressing Up

Lucy has been having fun playing dress up lately. I got the cutest witch hat from the dollar section at Target. Did I mention that I love the dollar section at Target. They have the best stuff there. That is always my first stop when I go. Lu got the hula outfit for her birthday and we had a great time with it. We went on a walk and she definitely got a few smiles. Later she just wanted to wear the top. I could not get her to take it off. Cute! Cutest witch you have every seen!

A little runny nose doesn't hold her back. Hula dancer!

Pumpkins and Such

Today we went to the pumpkin patch. It was great, but Lucy was not so sure. She was in a little bit of a mood, so it wasn't as fun as it could have been. There were lots of animals to pet and lots of pumpkins to carry. I thought we could get some cute fall pictures, but that didn't turn out quite like I had hoped. When we got home we made a fun house out of an old moving box. She really liked coloring on the box and making some very beautiful art work. We invited our friend Amy over and had dinner and painted our pumpkins. Her little one had a great time putting her hands in the paint. Lucy loved having a baby here. She was very excited! It was a full day and I hope we all sleep well. Also, happy 19 month birthday to her! She is almost out of her teen months. What happened?!? She also wanted to wear her jammas all day. Don't we all have those days!
An attempt at a family photo.

We even milked a fake cow.

This was her favorite thing about the pumpkin patch... the tractor.

Then we came home and played house...

Showing off her art work in the house.
