I am making baby food for LAS instead of buying it. That is not to say that I won't buy it, I am just going to try and make it as much as possible. It is cheaper and good for her. Last night I pureed until I couldn't puree anymore. I got these great storage trays from http://www.organicallyhatched.com/ They are great and easy to use separately. So I pureed squash, green beans, carrots, and sweet potatoes. I really like doing it. If you would have told me ten years ago the enjoyment I would get out of squishing up veggies, I would have laughed. First I might have asked if pureed was some sort of new drink that I might need to try. Priorities have changed, for the better. I got the recipes from http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/ They are very easy and I just keep them in a notebook in my kitchen. I just use my regular food processor. I hope that I can keep up with it. I suggest it to everyone because it is very easy, just takes a little time.
Finished product.

Yay! I can't wait to see pics of LAS trying all of the new foods!
I make NJ's baby food too! It's so easy - and a heckuva lot cheaper. You can also use ice cube trays if you run out of your storage trays - and just pop the food cubes into a Ziploc bag.
So far she's tried avocado, sweet potato, regular potato, butternut squash, banana, peas, green beans, and peaches. She's tolerated everything fine, but I think she wouldn't shed a tear if I threw out the green beans and peas (can't really blame her)
Also, Super Baby Food is a great book. It has lots of good recipes, ideas, tricks, and tips. You might be able to find a copy on Amazon for pretty cheap.
Miss you guys!!
I am very impressed! Have you see all the baby food making stuff in Williams Sonoma?
You're so granola. Maybe you could make that too...
I'm so impressed. I plan on doing this too, but dread it, probably because I haven't tried it. It'll be worth it though. If you come up with any shortcuts or lessons learned the hard way, let me know.
