Weekend Away

This past weekend Phillip and I had our first weekend away. We went to celebrate the birth of our great friends' second baby in Franklin, TN. It was so nice to go out to eat without tearing my food apart to share with a little on. Phillip's mom (Momma M) came and stayed the weekend with LAS. The had a blast. She is a great Momma M!

So, our friends Kara and Nate are having a little girl in a few weeks and we were so excited to go up and spend some time with them! We also got to see our other friends, Parker and Meghan. I haven't laughed that much in a LONG time. It was great! We are so lucky to blessed with these great people. Thanks for a fun weekend.

I think this is a great idea. If you know someone that is in the hospital, maybe has lost a loved one, or just needs help, please check out this site. You can design a schedule for people to deliver meals when they need them.

We have several friends that are about have babies and I think this is a great idea!

One Year Photo Session

Last weekend we did a mini photo shoot with a local photographer. The weather didn't really cooperate, so the back drop was not exactly what I was expecting. I wasn't too excited when I saw it. They were supposed to be outside. The pictures turned out a lot better than I was expecting. They do take great pictures! I wish I hadn't had that little bow in her hair because it keeps getting out of place in the pics. Oh well! Here are just a few.

Valentine Trip

This past weekend LAS and I took a trip to St. Mary's, GA to visit Mimi and Pops (my parents). Also, Mema (my grandmother) was there! We had a great time. We didn't do too much, just relaxed and had some great family time. Lu showed off a lot. She loved playing with the dogs, they didn't love it so much. She doesn't sleep that great in a pack and play, but made it all the way through the night one night. I was pumped! Mom helped me make a dress for Lu, well she really made it. It is really cute. Mom is great at that stuff.

Pops travels, so he collects the lotion from the Hampton Inns. Lu found his stash. If anyone every needs shampoo or moisturizer, just let me know.

11 Months Old and a Daredevil

Instead of sitting on her little car, Lu has started standing. It was a gradual thing. At first she would get on and off by herself. Then, she put her feet on the seat and would squat. Finally, she got brave and stood up. Right after this picture she fell. But what did she do after that, got right back on her car. This child is fearless, which makes me a little nervous. I foresee many bumps and bruises in our future.
I can not believe that in less than one month she is going to be a year old. Everyone tells you that the first year flies by, it's true. I feel like I was just in the hospital having her. I can't even start because I will cry. That is another thing I didn't think I would do. Lately I have been so nostalgic about Lu just thinking through this year. Wow! I love this crazy girl!
The other day she went into the laundry room and came out with this. Either it was a hint or she is taking after her mother, ha! (some of you may know about my horrible job my mom made me get when I was home from summer during college)

She really was trying to sweep. Is this a learned or innate behavior? She hasn't learned it from me! :)

LAS you are 11 months and this is what you are doing:

* You are climbing on everything.

* You talk a lot.

* You point out eyes, nose, and teeth.

* You have 5 teeth. The sixth one is almost there.

* You wear a size 3 diaper.

* You wear a size 4 shoe. Big Feet!

* You weigh about 18 lbs 12oz. A little on the small side.

* You have had two ear infections.

* You love your books and can point and call them "ook".

* You are not afraid of anything. Well, except loud noises. If I talk really loud it spooks you and you come running to me.

* You are a mommas girl right now, but still go running to Daddy when he gets home from work.

* You love to swing at the park.

* You have started to take your pacie out and throw it down when you get mad. Mommy doesn't love this. It is not very becoming of a young lady.

* You still love bath time.

* You are cutest and sweetest little girl I know!

Excuses, Excuses

Look at those chompers. She wouldn't let me button her shirt this day, so we just acted like we were rock stars.

*Wow, where the heck have I been. Well, I was in Birmingham to visit friends, Lucy was sick with a double ear infection and nasty cough, and then I caught her cold. I just have been a bad blogger so I put myself in blogger time out. I hope you're not too mad at me. We have done a lot so I hope this is not too long for you.

*First, we went to Birmingham. We stayed with our friends Meredith, Hays and Margaret Anne. They are great hosts and I hope we didn't messy their house too much. Margaret Anne and Lu play very well together. She is about the sweetest little girl I know. She and LAS gave lots of hugs to each other. The are fast friends, just like their mommies. I sure miss those guys. Thanks! While they were at work Lu and I hung out with our other awesome friends Mallory and Emory, and Jessica and Georgia. We had great play dates, lunch, and attempted story time. I miss them soooo much!!! We also got to see Laura and Haley. Thanks for driving all that way. Can't wait until we can do it more often!!! It was too quick of a trip. It was a little harder this time with Lu. She doesn't sleep well in the same room with me.

*I have also been on a little sewing kick thanks to Mallory. Lu got invited to a birthday party so I thought that I would make her something cute to wear. Then I thought about a few baby showers that I have coming up and thought I might get crafty. I made a few dresses and a lot of really cute burp cloths. Burp Cloths Model (not the best picture...it's a lot harder now that she is mobile!)

*So then we had the party. This was really her first birthday to attend. We knew it was going to be good when the mom said there were going to be unicorns. It was a Mardi Gras theme for Gretchen and a crawfish boil. Unfortunately it was pretty chilly, but we had a great time. LAS rode her first horse/ unicorn. Loved it. We may have to start saving for riding lessons. The house was beautiful and we all had a great time! I hope Gretchen isn't disappointed when she comes to our apartment complex for a cupcake in a few weeks. Hey, we might have a pinata!
