BR Zoo

Today we had a play date with some great people that I have met here. We met at the zoo, which is really nice. This was the first time Lu has been to the zoo and not ridden in her stroller. I still had it, just in case. It went pretty well. There were other kids for her to follow, so that helped. The only problem was that I hardly took any pictures because I was chasing her around. I guess I will get used to her walking like a big girl.

On the Plains

This weekend we went to Auburn to see family, friends, and, of course, watch the Tigers play. We were able to visit with so much family, it was awesome! (We missed you Ben!) We tailgated most of the day and then Phillip and I headed into the game. Lucy did really well, considering the heat! Man, I can't wait for fall. My Aunt Susan celebrated her birthday too. I am from SC, so half of our family is big Clemson fans. We had a great spot with the Tailgate Guys. They really hooked us up. The game was pretty intense. We were lucky that the outcome was in Auburn's favor. It took about 7 hours to get there and Lu did really well. I don't think we will be able to do that too much. It was worth every bit of traveling. Thanks for a great weekend!

Happy Birthday SuSu. My brother accidentally got trick candles. It was pretty funny!

Great spot! The shade was key. Game Day was directly above us. Taking the rickshaw back to the car with Mimi. Then it was SuSu and Mema's turn.
We attempted Tiger Walk, but she really isn't into the Tiger's roster this year.

Ground Breaking

Today was the big ground breaking for Phillip's job. This time around he is the project manager and we are super proud of him. The job is off and running and Daddy is working some pretty insane hours. Good thing Lucy can now say "poopy", since that is Daddy's specialty. You can check out an article about the job here.

What To Wear

Ok, so now we live in a college town and I guess I need to get hip with the college trends. Probably 4 out of 5 girls on the LSU campus are wearing these shorts, in various colors, at all times. The other girl is most likely wearing short cut offs. Phillip and I have decided we really missed out on a huge pay out by not creating these shorts. I have to drive through campus a good bit and they are all I see. Dang! I must be missing out!

18 Months

On the 9th Lu turned 18 months old. 18 months!! I just can't believe how fast our time with her has gone. It is absolutely amazing what a little girl she has become. Her vocabulary is unbelievable and the things that she does amaze us daily. This is a fun age, for sure. It is exhausting though. She is everywhere and the tantrums are really rearing their ugly heads. We celebrated Lu's birthday by watching the Auburn Tigers win against Mississippi State. Lucy loves to say "Weegle". She and I also went to get a cupcake today and then her Daddy and I took her for a picnic and some playground time. I got her an adorable tea set from TJ Maxx. One problem, it is glass and now we don't have much of it left. It only took two days! I have hot glued and tried to fix, so now we just have pieces. She still loves it. Lesson learned, 18 months shouldn't play with glass! Big Girl going to school.

No more pictures please!

Just a Hop, Skip, and a Jump

My parents came this weekend to help us get settled a little more. They are NOT a hop, skip, and a jump away. They are now a plane trip away. I can't really think about it. While they were here we did a lot around the house and took a little excursion to New Orleans for breakfast. My parents have never been, so we wanted them to experience a little bit of NOLA. So, since it is just a hop, skip, and a jump, we went to New Orleans. We had some beignets at Cafe Du Mond and walked around Jackson Square. We aren't sure if Lucy like the beignets more or the powdered sugar. We got to experience a little of the night life thanks to the guy sitting behind us at Cafe Du Mond who had obviously been up all night and was still three sheets to the wind. He eventually fell asleep at the table and knocked over his coffee on Phillip. I just knew it was throw up. Thank goodness I was wrong. The coffee woke him up because he said he thought some one had thrown up. My bet would have been on you buddy. It was a great time though! With Mimi and Pops.

Loving the beignets!
This was just too easy... as we were crossing Bourbon Street Lucy passed out. We thought that it was very appropriate. This better be the only time that it happens.

Pictures of the house to come...
In the mean time, I made Lu a sand box and she loves it. I wasn't sure how she would react to the sand, but she didn't mind it as long as it wasn't in her shoes and we would wipe it off of her hands. We are really enjoying having an outdoor area.

The best thing is that it has a lid and and wheels. We close it up when we're done and no mess. Fabulous!

Merry Go Round

Tonight we took Lu for a special ride. We have a great new mall and there is a carousel. She has never been on one, but is always up for an adventure. We ate in the food court and she watched the other kids go by and was itching to go herself. She went for a spin with her Daddy and then, because that was enough, another with her Mommy. I think this will be a regular occurrence! Needless to say, she squealed the whole time.
First we rode the tiger. Yes, we are in the home of LSU, but tonight it was Aubie.
Then we picked the horse. She couldn't stop saying, "Neigh, Neigh"

School Days

Today was Lu's first day of Mother's Day Out. With a little searching, I think that we found a good place for her. She stays most of the day and they feed her there, which is pretty cool. She screamed when I left her, but when I picked her up she was very happy and didn't even run to me. To me, that means she enjoyed it. I am prepping her for next week already.
Ready for her first day.
She really liked Mommy's painted toes and her truck!
